We are always asked why we describe ourselves as "Documentary Wedding Photographers?"  I guess it's a matter of perspective.  The long answer is that we approach each wedding by trying to photograph the true story of what is happening to the bride, groom and their families. We try to get to know everyone involved and try to capture all their personalities.  And the best part of photographing weddings is while all weddings have common events and timelines, the people involved make them so unique.  Yes, taking good looking and interesting portraits are important as well as nice and pretty detail images. We also take pride in doing those well. They are all a part of the "complete wedding story." Interestingly enough, concentrating on stories have made our portraits better because we focus on the interactions between our brides and grooms.  So, the simple answer is that we love telling people's stories.
